The New York Knicks over the years have developed the reputation of being a highly dysfunctional organization from ownership on down.

This perception has only gained more steam with Phil Jackson in charge of the team as the president of basketball operations. According to Yaron Weitzman of Bleacher Report, this has built a stronger belief around the league that there is little to no interest from players desiring to sign with the Knicks in free agency.

“Nobody wants to go there and play in the triangle,” one Western Conference scout told Bleacher Report.

“Some free agents, I think the triangle is an issue,” another Western Conference scout added. “But before you even get to the system, I think there are several other factors that are much more of a priority or influence in terms of desire to play there.”

The Knicks have become quite a troublesome organization coming off their fourth straight losing season with the latter two coming under the helm of Jackson. His handling of the team hasn't exactly been ideal as he's forced the use of the Triangle offense upon both previous head coach Derek Fisher and current head coach John Hornacek to which has contributed to the team's struggles on the court.

He has also outcasted Carmelo Anthony by publicly stating more than once that he believes the All-Star forward should look to play elsewhere even though he still has two more years remaining on his five-year, $124.1 million deal.

All of this has painted a more definitive picture of the dysfunction within the organization making hard for players away from the team to envision any sustained success in New York. Until the Knicks make some drastic changes, this perception will continue to persist.
