The Chicago White Sox have found a way to hang around in the American League Central race even with a ton of injuries in the first half of the season. However, they might be getting one of their stars back soon as Eloy Jimenez is set to begin his rehab assignment on Friday.

Jimenez, who has been out since the end of March during Cactus League play, was originally given a 5-6 month timetable after a ruptured left pectoral tendon.

Don't worry, Jimenez isn't rushing back from injury just because, but claims he is more than ready to return, according to Lamond Pope of the Chicago Tribune.

“I feel better than spring training. I feel 110%, let’s say 200%. I feel pretty normal. I feel like I can do my swing, finish, with one hand, two hands, whatever and it’s not going to hurt.”

That is certainly a breath of fresh air for the White Sox and getting Jimenez back in time for a late-season push is just what they need. With the MLB All-Star break around the corner, the White Sox are comfortable atop the AL Central by 7.5 games over the Cleveland Indians and seem in control of their own destiny.

However, their sights are on bigger things and they hope to bring home an AL Championship– and ultimately a World Series. Getting Jimenez back healthy would definitely help boost their case, and it all beings Friday with his rehab assignment.
