The highly anticipated workout for Colin Kaepernick in front of NFL team officials took place on Saturday. While running a live stream of the workout, Kaepernick looked ready for an NFL comeback.

Throughout the workout, Kaepernick threw an array of passes all over the field. Among them, the free-agent quarterback's deep ball still appeared to be top-notch—as it was when he last played in the NFL.

But even with Kaepernick performing well on Saturday, the reason why he hasn't been in the NFL isn't due to his physical abilities. The 32-year-old quarterback looks to be in remarkable shape and his arm still appears to be strong.

In the workout, Kaepernick showcased that he still has a tight-knit throwing motion that can aid in him being efficient through the air. Along with that, he was able to roll out and throw with accuracy on the run.

Yes, there were no pass rushers closing in on the quarterback while he was throwing. There were also no defensive backs to make it tougher for Kaepernick to complete the passes to his wide receivers.

At the same time, the people who are taking away from Kaepernick's workout for those reasons must have never seen the NFL Scouting Combine or a typical free-agent workout. Did people expect Kaepernick to play in an exhibition game to prove he is ready to rejoin the NFL?

Despite having to relocate the workout, Kaepernick did everything he had to do to display that he can still play in the NFL. For a quarterback who has been out of the league for three years, he looked phenomenal.

Kaepernick last suited up in the NFL with the San Francisco 49ers in 2016. The dual-threat quarterback finished that season with 2,241 yards, 16 touchdowns, and four interceptions. He also tacked on another 468 yards and two touchdowns with his legs.

The sole reason he isn't currently on an NFL roster has nothing to do with what happens between the sidelines. Instead, teams are still wary of bringing him in due to his stance on kneeling during the national anthem.

Aside from that, there's no doubt that Kaepernick is better than a majority of the quarterbacks who are on rosters. That's not saying that he should be a starting quarterback in the NFL again.

But to say he shouldn't be at least a backup is completely asinine considering there are completely inept quarterbacks who are starting or have been given the opportunity to start in 2019.

Kaepernick demonstrated that he is ready to make an NFL comeback but as he said on Saturday, ‘the ball is in the court‘ of the NFL teams now.
