World no. 1 Iga Swiatek had won 37 matches in a row entering her third round Wimbledon match against Alize Cornet. In a stunning turn of events, Swiatek was bested by Cornet in straight sets, ending the third-longest match-winning streak in tennis history, behind only Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic, per ESPN Stats and Info.

After the match, Swiatek did something that many athletes wouldn't, an impressive gesture after such a shocking defeat. It didn't go unnoticed either, as these two shrewd Twitter users pointed it out on Twitter.

There was Swiatek, moments after being defeated by Cornet in a stunning Wimbledon upset that denied her a chance at tennis history, signing autographs for fans.

This was possibly the only time some of these fans could have seen Swiatek- at Wimbledon no less. The fact that the world no. 1 was willing to stand there on the court where her run at the Grand Slam ended is pure class, to say the least.

Many players would have wanted to stay as far away from the court as possible. Not Swiatek. However, that doesn't mean that she wasn't frustrated. The Polish tennis star spoke about her troubles in practice and how they translated to the uncharacteristic third round showing against Cornet at Wimbledon, via WTA Insider on Twitter.

“I tried many things to feel better on court, on grass court, but it didn't really work out. That's why I'm not even hard on myself because, like, it's kind of logic that if I couldn't find it even on practices, I'm not going to find it on a match.”

She's not as hard on herself as she would have been, given her logic that practice struggles would translate to match play as well.

Even while dealing with that emotion, Swiatek still performed a classy gesture for fans. Hats off to her.
