The Washington Wizards just ended their three-game road trip, and will return home on Saturday to face the Portland Trail Blazers. It did not go well for them, to say the least, as they lost two out of three matches, including an overtime defeat at the hands of the Charlotte Hornets on Wednesday.

John Wall was asked to describe it, and he did not hold back in saying it was “terrible.” It may be simple, but definitely a straightforward response from him, especially as he knows his team was capable of winning all three games during that span.

While the Wizards are doing well when it comes to offensive execution, it’s their defense that has become suspect recently. The lack of intensity on that end of the floor is an issue that head coach Scott Brooks needs to address immediately to avoid losing more games. Their turnovers have not helped their cause as well, as the Wizards need to take care of the ball more to give themselves a better chance of ending their recent slide.

It remains to be seen what adjustments they will make in their upcoming games, but John Wall’s words could also serve as a wakeup call to his teammates to play harder. If that will be the case, it can be expected that they will bounce back as early as their next outing, and could lead to a winning streak for them, which would put their recent troubles all in the past.
