The basketball world was hit by a bombshell after it was revealed that Bradley Beal is seriously mulling his future with the Washington Wizards. Beal has remained loyal to the Wizards through the years despite the numerous opportunities wherein he could have forced a move away from DC. As it turns out, a trade demand might just be inevitable at this point — and here's why.

Fred Katz of The Athletic reports that one of the primary reasons why Beal is supposedly unhappy in Washington has a lot to do with the team's new head coach, Wes Unseld Jr. Apparently, Undels was not Beal's first choice. It was Philadelphia 76ers assistant coach Sam Cassell:

According to sources, one of the reasons he was frustrated when his top choice for the job — 76ers assistant Sam Cassell, an assistant with Washington during Beal’s first couple of NBA seasons — couldn’t land a second interview.

It doesn't seem like Beal and Unseld are not on the same page. It's just that Unseld wasn't the ideal man for the job in Beal's own opinion. Given his stature with the Wizards, you would think that Beal's opinion would hold a lot of weight, especially when it comes to hiring a new coach. Apparently, this just isn't the case, and this might be one of the reasons why the All-Star shooting guard could be on his way out of Washington in the offseason.

To be clear, Bradley Beal has not requested or demanded a trade from the Wizards front office. Reports suggest that he is merely considering his future in DC. Whatever the case may be, it is clear that Beal's loyalty as well as the team's resolve will be put to the test in the coming months.
