Somebody notify J.R. Smith: his bit was stolen.

Veteran point guard Isaiah Thomas attempted to untie the shoe laces of third-year guard Markelle Fultz during the Tuesday night bout between the shorthanded Washington Wizards and Orlando Magic.

Thomas, a two-time All-Star who signed as a free agent with the Wizards this past summer, can be seen fidgeting with Fultz's laces while the guard is bent over adjusting his sneakers right before an inbound.

Fultz has been markedly better in his first full season with the Magic after being traded to the central Florida franchise in February of this year. He's averaging 11.7 points and 3.8 assists per game on 49.5 percent shooting from the floor, appearing in 19 games and 14 starts entering Tuesday's matchup.

Fultz did not appear in a game for Orlando after the trade in the remainder of the 2018-19 season, as he was rehabbing from thoracic outlet syndrome.

Of course, former New York Knicks Sixth Man of the Year and future NBA champion with the Cleveland Cavaliers J.R. Smith was fined for tying Shawn Marion's shoe laces at the foul line in a January 2014 game.
