After being selected with the No. 1 overall pick in Friday's WNBA draft, Sabrina Ionescu quickly signed an endorsement deal with Nike and Los Angeles Lakers superstar small forward LeBron James is excited to add her to the brand.

The New York Liberty took Ionescu with the first pick. She's been the best player in women's college basketball for the past few years and she's widely expected to become a superstar in the WNBA very soon:

Because of COVID-19, the 2020 WNBA draft was conducted virtually.

The 2019-20 NBA season was suspended after Utah Jazz center Rudy Gobert tested positive for COVID-19. LeBron and the Lakers had the top record in the Western Conference before the season was suspended.

In 60 games for the Lakers prior to play getting suspended, James was averaging 25.7 points, 7.9 rebounds and 10.6 assists. The King was leading the NBA in assists and was also shooting 49.8 percent from the field, 34.9 percent from beyond the arc and 69.7 percent from the free-throw line.

As each day passes, the odds of the 2019-20 season resuming in the summer decrease. Hopefully, the NBA and WNBA are able to resume play soon.
