On the previous edition of WWE's SmackDown, Drew McIntyre and Sheamus earned double disqualifications to end their match.

Now normally, this wouldn't be a big deal; many a match on WWE TV ends without the 1-2-3, and only a few folks have a problem with it. No, the problem with this particular ending was that it came at the end of a Money in the Bank qualifying match; a match literally designed around having a definitive winner.

Needless to say, McIntyre and Sheamus didn't take too kindly to this outcome, as the duo both propositioned Adam Pearce for a spot in the match based on their qualifications. The results? Well, at the time, there really weren't any; SmackDown went off the air without a definitive decision either way, and Pearce took the week to think things over.

Fast forward a week into the future, and Pearce called the two performers into the ring. He set the stage for the assembled crowd and, after a few seconds to drum up anticipation, announced that Sheamus had earned a spot in Money in the Bank's titular event.

Understandably, McIntyre didn't take too kindly to those results, as he attacked his longtime rival and threw him from the ring in anger.

… only, here's the thing, Pearce wasn't done. No, once McIntyre came back to the ring, he swerved and announced that both men would be competing in the match alongside Seth “Freakin” Rollins and that their longstanding feud would earn another chapter in one of the more entertaining wrestling events you'll ever see.

Needless to say, July 2nd can't come soon enough.
