The New York Yankees came into this offseason looking to make some big moves to put them over the top in the American League. After coming up just short in the postseason the last couple of years, the Yankees are looking to spend big money in free agency and scour the trade market for top-notch talent.

Signing Gerrit Cole was a massive move for the Yankees. He is the missing piece that the rotation desperately needed to be capable of winning in the postseason. Now, they are looking to make a big addition to their bullpen if the right player comes along.

Rumors have been swirling that the Yankees and Milwaukee Brewers have had discussions regarding star reliever Josh Hader. According to a report from Jon Heyman of the MLB Network, the Yankees “remain interested” in acquiring Hader.

Hader would be a massive addition for the New York bullpen. He throws incredibly hard and when he's on his game, is nearly untouchable. Bringing in a star reliever would be exactly what the doctor ordered for the Yankees.

Last season with the Brewers, Hader ended up pitching 75.2 innings. He compiled a 2.62 ERA to go along with a 3-5 record and an impressive 37 saves. New York needs help closing games out in the final two or three innings, and this is as good as it could possibly get for them.

Expect to hear more about the Yankees in the near future. Free agency has been heating up and the trade market should start heating up in the near future as well. Hader could be a name on the move and the Yankees appear to be the top landing spot right now.
