Have you ever pulled a card or won something from a break that completely blew your mind away? If you have, then it pales in comparison to what this guy got recently – a 2019-20 Flawless Zion Williamson Logoman Patch One of One.

Talk about hitting it big out of nowhere. Well, that’s the same case for a card collector from the Land Down Under, Australia. All it took was $750 to join a break hosted by Firehands Cards in California. The break was done online last Christmas Eve and everyone who paid the said amount will receive one card from the break itself.

For those who have no idea how a box break works, here’s the basic gist of it. Basically, you’re buying a spot into a break. Usually, each spot randomly assigns a team to you and all cards under that team will go to you when a sealed box of cards is opened. The break itself is broadcasted online so you can see which cards you can get in realtime.

For this particular break, two 2019-20 Flawless Boxes were opened live. Keep in mind that the one box itself sells for around $7,000 in the market. This amount makes it impossible for casual fans to buy one off the shelf. That’s why card collectors join these breaks because aside from it’s a fun pastime, it’s also one of the best ways to obtain these valuable cards at the fraction of their true cost.

And boy, did this person hit it big time. He knew that each spot will only garner one card from that break. But the thing is,  there was no idea beforehand which player he was going to get. The worst-case scenario here is that you pay $750 for a card that’s true value will never exceed $7.5. Turns out, it was the very best-case scenario for this guy.

As with most box breaks, the breaker slowly reveals the card to create an exciting atmosphere. With the revelation of the One of One logo and the Logoman patch itself, the suspense reached ridiculous levels for those who participated in the break, and even those who caught the live stream online. Within a single pull, it was then revealed to be a holy grail – Zion Williamson’s One of One Logoman Patch Card, which features a piece from the player’s game-worn jersey.

The fan wasted no time in cashing his massive win in. He communicated with Ken Goldin, owner of Goldin Auctions, to place this valuable item up for auction. The card was then personally delivered by Goldin’s nephew to PSA to grade it. A day passed and the card was returned with a graded 9 mint condition and placed on auction right after. Goldin Auctions added that they expect Williamson’s Logoman card to hit $750,000 once it has been auctioned on January 11.

This huge pull goes to show that there’s a lot of value to be had just by joining box breaks. Although there’s always the risk to go along with it, there’s also the chance to hit it big. Just ask that Australian fan about it and he’ll soon show you how a box break can change your life in an instant.
