Week 8 is upon us for fantasy football! The wide receiver position is seeing performances that have never been done before. It's time to continue our fantasy football series with the wide receiver position.

The wide receiver position is arguably the most important to keep an eye on for the entire season. Many receivers face matchups that are easier or drastically harder. In some games the game plan doesn't involve them, so they could not see as many targets depending on the matchup. This year we are seeing young receivers take over while some of the older veterans are taking a step back. Let's take a look at which receivers you should consider starting and benching this for fantasy football Week 8.

Fantasy Football Week 8 Start ‘Em

Jamar Chase, Cincinnati Bengals

Chase just broke the record for the most receiving yards by a rookie through seven games in NFL history with 754. There is nothing he can't do. Before the season fantasy owners were skeptical of the No. 5 overall pick, but now they must start him. He is currently third in total points this season by a receiver. He's averaging over 20 fantasy points per game and should be a starter going forward.

The reason Chase is on this list this week is because he is facing the third-ranked defense against receivers this year. The Jets are playing better on defense than everyone thinks. Chase should still start despite the rankings showing otherwise. The Joe Burrow-Chase connection is peaking right now.

Courtland Sutton, Denver Broncos

Sutton is someone to keep an eye out for this week. He faces the 30th ranked WFT defense this Sunday. The Broncos are having difficulties on offense, but Sutton is starting to come alive. He racked up 25 targets in two straight games prior to Thursday's loss to the Cleveland Browns. He is set to bounce back and play well against the WFT defense who can't stop the passing game.

Sutton and Jerry Jeudy can become one of the top receiver duos in the game if they stay consistent. Quarterback Teddy Bridgewater isn't playing well enough to rise their potential. Despite Bridgewater not playing well, I still expect him to find Sutton this week and display a solid fantasy performance.

Michael Pittman Jr., Indianapolis Colts

Pittman Jr. is turning into a star for the Colts. The former USC Trojan and quarterback Carson Wentz are starting to find their chemistry. It's only a matter of time until Pittman Jr. is one of the more consistent receivers in the game. He caught four passes for 105 yards and a TD on Sunday night against the San Francisco 49ers.

He faces the Tennessee Titans this weekend who are ranked dead last against opposing receivers. This sets up what should be another stellar outing for Pittman Jr. The Titans played well against the Chiefs last weekend, but the Chiefs are not playing well at all right now. I expect Pittman Jr. to show his fantasy owners that he is a viable option going forward.

Fantasy Receivers Week 8 Sit ‘Em

Brandin Cooks, Houston Texans

Cooks is the Texans' clear No . 1 receiver this year. He played very well through the first three weeks of the season, scoring a combined 60 fantasy points. Since then, he's fallen off a little because of their QB play. Davis Mills isn't playing consistently and the Texans are hurting as a result.

Cooks faces the Los Angeles Rams this weekend. He should be guarded by Jalen Ramsey for the majority of the game. This is one of those situations where the matchup should definitely affect the outcome. I would avoid Cooks this weekend.

Tee Higgins, Cincinnati Bengals

Higgins played very well as a rookie for the Bengals last year. This year hasn't been the same because of the rise of Jamar Chase. Higgins is still catching passes and racking up yards. He's scored twice this year in the first two games, but an injury set him back a little.

His numbers aren't going to be very high if Chase continues to play at the level he's at. It's not really a shot at Higgins, it's just more of the fact that the Chase-Burrow connection is on fire at the moment. There are other options this week that could benefit your team more.

Corey Davis, New York Jets

Davis is another streaky fantasy football receiver this year. He's getting the targets but the production isn't quite there to be a solid option. Davis is one of those receivers you keep on your bench until needed. This week should be the same unless you need to start him. He faces the Bengals this week who are ranked 15th against opposing receivers. This could be hit or miss, but Davis isn't projected to play well, especially with Zach Wilson potentially missing some time.
