The Arizona Cardinals are coming off of their first loss of the season to the Green Bay Packers. Both teams are contenders in the NFC, and they were both dealing with injury concerns. The Packers came out on top with an interception in the end zone to seal the game.

With star pass rusher JJ Watt suffering a possible season-ending injury, Arizona could look to add a pass rusher at the deadline. The Cardinals are contenders projected to make a deep playoff run, which is why they could be active at the trade deadline as they look to get the team ready for a potential Super Bowl run.

With that said, here are the two best trades the Cardinals must make before the 2021 NFL Trade Deadline.

Cardinals Trades

2. Kyle Fuller

Kyle Fuller has been a solid cornerback throughout his career. And with the Denver Broncos dropping their last four games after starting out 3-0, they may move on from some veteran players.

The Cardinals could use another cornerback in their secondary. Byron Murphy Jr. has played at an elite level, but they are missing a good cornerback to pair alongside him. Trading for Fuller would fill this void and make Arizona a more complete team defensively.

Fuller has been linked in trade rumors throughout the season, and a move to the Cardinals makes a ton of sense for both sides. Arizona would have to restructure some contracts to create the cap space, but it would be well worth it to acquire Fuller.

1. Trey Flowers

Trey Flowers would not be a target for the Cardinals a few weeks ago, but it could make sense with Watt out. Flowers is currently playing for the Detroit Lions, who sit at 0-8 on the season. The Lions will be sellers at the deadline, and Flowers will likely be traded.

The veteran defensive end has 1.5 sacks on the season as well as 20 tackles. While his numbers aren't great, he could make an impact if he is next to an elite pass rusher. Flowers would be paired with superstar pass rusher Chandler Jones, who takes so much attention from offenses.

In this situation, Flowers could shine and revitalize his career. If the Cardinals make a move for Flowers, he should be able to help their pass rush vastly.

The Cardinals will be a team to follow as the trade deadline is approaching fast. They sit atop the NFC West, which is one of if not the best division in the NFL. The Los Angeles Rams and Cardinals will fight for the divisional title as both teams are 7-1.  Making moves at the deadline could separate Arizona from LA and help them get a better seed in the playoffs.

Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray has been having an MVP-type season, leading the Cardinals to where they are now. Heading into the season, many expected them to finish last in the NFC West, but they have put it all together and dominated through the season.

Now, they might just be a few pieces away from title contention.
