The 6-foot-5, 195-pound shooting guard also had offers from Michigan, Memphis, Florida, Kansas and Maryland among many others.

He is rated as the No. 16 player overall in the country for the class of 2020, according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings. He is also rated as the No. 4 player at his position and No. 4 player in the state of Florida. He plays at the IMG Academy in Bradenton.

Springer joins a top-five recruiting class with fellow five-star guard Keon Johnson and four-star forward Corey Walker who is a top 40 player in the country.

It looks like coach Rick Barnes has something special brewing for next season and we may see this class get even better should he add any more players to the mix.

As for this season, Tennessee returns an experienced backcourt with Jordan Bowden and Lamonte Turner leading the way, while 5-star freshman Josiah-Jordan James and several other newcomers figure to play a huge role.

The Vols tip off the season on Nov. 5 against UNC Asheville.
