The NBA Draft is here and there are several candidates who could possibly go as the top pick. We're here to share our 2024 NBA Draft odds series and make a No. 1 overall pick prediction and pick for the draft.

The NBA Draft has become one of the most anticipated events in basketball, as fans of teams who have struggled gain anticipation for the future of their favorite teams. Last year, we had the draft of Victor Wembanyama to the San Antonio Spurs.

The Atlanta Hawks currently have the top pick in the NBA Draft after winning it despite having the 10th-best odds. However, there is a possibility that the Hawks will trade their top pick to the San Antonio Spurs or any other team that might be interested.

There are several options that might go first. Significantly, the first options are Zaccharie Risacher and Alexandre Sarr. Donovan Clingan and Reed Sheppard are the two wildcards who might go first. Some mock drafts have Risacher over Sarr. But there are many people who believe that Sarr could go first. We are going to evaluate this draft based on the needs of the Hawks and the needs of other teams that might trade up.

Here are the NBA Draft odds, courtesy of FanDuel.

Why Risacher Will Be The Top Pick

Risacher is the top pick based on the odds. He played for JL Bourg-en-Bresse in France last season. Ultimately, he is a 6'8 guard/forward combo who a team can plug anywhere. Rosacher is also a two-way player who can become a weapon in numerous ways. But he is also just 19 years old.

Risacher averaged 10.1 points and 3.4 rebounds per game last season. Substantially, the possibility for the Hawks drafting him would include pairing him with Trae Young and Dejounte Murray. But would that be a good fit for him?

With the Spurs emerging as a possible trade partner, Risacher becomes likely to give Wembanyama a fellow countryman while also giving the Spurs another option off the ball. Also, consider the fact that the Hawks might need more draft picks and a team on the lower realm might be more than willing to give to them.

Risacher is a player who cuts right to the basketball. Significantly, many compare him to Michael Porter Jr. and Khris Middleton, while others have compared him to Franz Wagner. Rosacher shot 56.1 percent from the perimeter last season. Furthermore, he is a rebounding and scoring machine who could flex well in the NBA. But he likely will not be the top guy. No, the team who drafts him will use him as a building block but he is not like Wembanyama.

Why Sarr Will Be The Top Pick

Sarr is a big man from France who adds some height. If the Hawks decide to trade Clint Capella, they may pursue Sarr to start over at the big-man spot.

Sarr is 7'1 and 224 pounds. Also, he used that height and weight to average 9.4 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 1.5 blocks per game while shooting 53 percent from the floor for the Perth Wildcats in Australia. There is the possibility that the Hawks might be interested in him and grab him with the top pick. Or, there is a weird possibility that the Spurs trade for the pick and grab Sarr in an attempt to replicate history when they paired Tim Duncan and David Robinson, two big men, on the floor in 1997.

However, four other teams, the Houston Rockets, Detroit Pistons, Charlotte Hornets, and Portland Trail Blazers, are also interested in Sarr and could make a play for him.

Sarr is a forward/center combo who can become a threat from anywhere on the court. Overall, he provides space and does the dirty work down low. Some compare him to Nic Claxton but with a better jump shot.

Why Clingan Will Be The Top Pick

If the Hawks stun the world and decide not to take Risacher or Sarr, then Clingan would be an option. At one point, many believed he could have been the top pick. Clingan will likely be the first American off the board. Overall, the 20-year-old is 7'2 and 280 pounds and was a pivotal player for the UConn Huskies.

Clingan averaged 13 points and 7.4 rebounds while shooting 63.9 percent from the floor. Significantly, the center protects the rim and grabs boards. He has a high floor. However, he has not proven he can stand out on his own, and the foot injuries he suffered hurt his draft value.

Why Sheppard Will Be The Top Pick

Sheppard is the unlikely wildcard pick here. He is 19 years old and is a combo guard who is 6'3 guard with 187 pounds. Consequently, he may not have the hype or ability to get the top pick. But a team could be convinced to trade up for him. This means the Hawks would have to find a trade partner willing to trade up.

Final No. 1 Draft Pick Prediction & Pick

For me, it's between Risacher and Sarr. Both are talented, and both may help their teams immediately. However, there is only one player who can truly be the top pick. Assuming the Hawks do not trade the pick, we believe that Rosacher will be the guy they grab. He fits their system better and will be a better fit for the system that Quin Snyder is implementing.
