After failing to build on his rookie season, Tyler Herro's future with the Miami Heat could be in jeopardy. Herro's numbers weren't bad in Year 2, but he didn't jump up as much as hoped and he was a disaster in the first-round sweep at the hands of the Milwaukee Bucks.

With the Heat looking to maximize Jimmy Butler's championship window and get more help for him and Bam Adebayo, there's a possibility they'll look to trade Herro and go in another direction. There is also a chance that Herro could bounce back next season and make a big leap, which is something that's intriguing for trade suitors. After all, he's only 21 years old.

Let's now take a look at the three best trade destinations for Tyler Herro during the 2021 NBA offseason.

San Antonio Spurs

The Spurs missed the playoffs the last two seasons and are in a rebuilding mode, especially with DeMar DeRozan likely headed elsewhere. Getting Herro would add to their youth movement and give them another option at guard. Perhaps the Heat and Spurs could even work out a deal with DeRozan and Herro involved.

San Antonio desperately needs 3-point shooting after being one of the worst in the NBA from beyond the arc this past season. Dejounte Murray isn't much of a shooter at point guard, so getting Herro in there would bolster the backcourt's shooting ability and give them more offensive potential.

Oklahoma City Thunder

With the Thunder fully committed to building a deep and athletic roster filled with promising young talent and great potential for playoff contention in the near future, Tyler Herro would find himself in a low-pressure situation. Playing for a small-market team like Oklahoma City could give Herro an opportunity to revive his playing career and shine big playing with youngsters like Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Luguentz Dort.

With his ability to play both point and shooting guard, Herro could form an exciting young trio with SGA and Lu Dort while continuously improving his game and helping the Thunder grow into a legit playoff contender. On the Thunder, Tyler Herro could witness a resurgence while helping them build a winning culture.

New Orleans Pelicans

Given that the Pelicans are now under pressure to do all they can to please Zion Williamson and surround him with a good enough supporting cast, making a play for Tyler Herro this summer is a move that the Pelicans should strongly consider. This move makes a ton of sense for the Pelicans, especially considering that Herro is only 21 years old and still just scratching the surface of his potential.

With Lonzo Ball set to be a free agent this summer and seemingly heading elsewhere, the Pelicans are in line to have a major void to fill in the backcourt. Herro would be an ideal replacement at guard as he could form an exciting pick-and-roll combination with Williamson while providing them with much-needed 3-point shooting. Granted, Herro did endure something of a shooting slump this past season, but a change of scenery and playing in a new system could be just what he needs to make a major contribution.

Plus, adding Herro to the Pelicans would give them an opportunity to form an exciting new trio of Williamson, Herro, and Brandon Ingram that has the potential to become an elite scoring unit in the NBA. With the Pelicans looking to climb the ranks of the ultra-competitive Western Conference and get Zion into the playoffs for the first time in his young career, this is a move that could get them over the hump and inch them closer to postseason stardom.
