Lonzo Ball's future with the New Orleans Pelicans grows murkier by the day. In the latest report from The Athletic's Shams Charania, Ball looks likely to part ways with the Louisiana-based side.

Shams reported on the Pelicans guard in his newest edition of Inside Pass:

“New Orleans is unlikely to match a significant offer sheet on Ball, sources said. Ball, 23, is among the top point guards on the free-agent market. The Bulls and Clippers are expected to be among the teams interested in him, according to sources.”

While Lonzo Ball no longer has the superstar sheen that he once had, the same one currently shining on his younger brother LaMelo, he still looks to be a solid contributor on a winning team. He averaged a career high in scoring at 14.6 points per game in his second year with the Pelicans, while also posting his best year from beyond the arc at 37.8% from deep.

The Pelicans have a couple of young guards waiting in the wings should Ball not return. Both Nickeil Alexander-Walker and Kira Lewis Jr. have shown flashes in short spurts while playing behind Lonzo Ball and could be in a dogfight for the starting spot.

The Bulls could definitely use Ball's defensive prowess, as both young stars in Zach LaVine and Coby White are much more effective on offense. Plugging in the Pelicans guard could be the perfect solution. The Clippers would also welcome Ball's playmaking abilities on a team with few true playmakers. Ball has averaged 6.4 assists throughout his 4-year NBA career.
