The Miami Heat refrained from including Tyler Herro in trade talks at the deadline this past March, but he could be readily available this summer.

Ethan Skolnick of Five Reasons Sports reported Friday he spoke to several sources around the league who believe there is a “75 percent” chance the Heat trade Herro this offseason. Other sources told Skolnick they think that probability is actually on the low end.

Things have really soured for Herro since he emerged as one of the breakout stars in the “bubble” during his rookie season.

The numbers aren't bad, per se. Herro averaged 15.1 points, 5.0 rebounds and 3.4 assists per contest during the regular season, also shooting above 36 percent from beyond the arc.

However, the former Kentucky star merely experienced marginal gains in player efficiency rating (PER) and value over replacement player (VORP) while also seeing his true shooting percentage take a dip. He was not close to resembling the player he was last summer in Orlando.

There might be some other elements to Herro's future in Miami. There were reports earlier this year suggesting the Heat were concerned Herro's celebrity was becoming an issue. He appeared to build momentum ahead of the postseason, only to average under 10 points and shoot just 31.6 percent from the field during a first-round loss to the Milwaukee Bucks.

The Heat might lament not including Herro in a possible deal for a James Harden earlier in the season, or Kyle Lowry prior to the deadline. In any case, they might see what they can get by including Herro in some kind of package.
