These days, Shannon Sharpe is known for his wild takes as an analyst for Fox Sports. But many tend to forget that he was one heck of an NFL player. San Francisco 49ers tight end George Kittle was reminded of it on Sunday night.

Kittle had nine catches for 181 yards and two touchdowns against the Seattle Seahawks, but his efforts weren't enough to help the 49ers get the win, losing 30-23. But for what it's worth, the 28-year-old achieved another milestone after passing Sharpe for the most 175-yard games by a tight end in NFL history (via StatMuse)

The fact that it took almost two decades for someone to surpass Sharpe only goes to show that it's a difficult feat to achieve. Which also serves as a validation of Sharpe's talents during his colorful career, even though his current job has somewhat affected his legacy.

It's worth noting that Kittle was shut down by the Seahawks in the second half. The two-time Pro Bowler admitted after the game that nothing worked for the 49ers after the halftime break (via ESPN).

“Our offense we didn't really do anything in the second half. And it's hard to win in Seattle if you don't do anything in the second half.”

The 49ers dropped to 6-6 and are now in a precarious position to miss the NFL Playoffs.

The 49ers have been hampered by a string of injuries, with Deebo Samuel, Fred Warner, Marcell Harris, and Emmanuel Moseley all sitting out against the Seahawks. They will take on the Cincinnati Bengals next Sunday.
