San Francisco 49ers quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo ranked at No. 90 on the NFL Network’s Top 100 Players of 2018, a list that’s voted on by fellow players. But it appears Jimmy G didn’t get Jacksonville Jaguars cornerback Jalen Ramsey’s vote.

During a recent appearance on NFL Network, Ramsey didn’t think Garoppolo deserved to crack the top 100 just yet. He brought up the relatively small sample size Garoppolo has as a starter, as well as Ramsey’s first-hand experience going up against him.

“Not yet, not yet,” Ramsey said per Herbie Teope of NFL.com. “What he play — five games? He has good potential. I think he'll be a good player, but off my experience in playing him, it was a lot of scheme stuff. It wasn't like he was just dicing us up. It was a lot of scheme stuff.”

Ramsey’s Jaguars were one of the five teams Garoppolo went up against in his perfect five-start stretch at the end of last season. Jimmy G went 21-of-30 for 242 yards with two touchdowns, an interception, and a rushing touchdown as he led the Niners to a 44-33 win.

However, Ramsey didn’t seem that impressed by Garoppolo and noted that his success may have been due to teams just not having that much film on him.

The 49ers and Jaguars won’t play one another again this season, so Jimmy G won’t get the chance to prove himself to Ramsey first-hand. But if he can perform like he did against the Jags for a full season, he will go a long way toward earning the All-Pro corner’s respect.
