If the Pittsburgh Steelers move on from Antonio Brown this offseason a rumored landing spot is the San Francisco 49ers and Jerry Rice has made a promise he will mentor him if that happens. Rice was appearing on 95.7 The Game and said if Brown does come to California, he knows he won't be a distraction.

“I communicate back and forth with this guy all the time, and we know exactly what he's all about,” Rice said via Marcus White of NBC Sports Bay Area. “Even if he came to the San Francisco 49ers, he's not gonna be one of those guys to come in and really hurt this team. He's not going to be a bad influence. I can vouch for him.”

Rice has said that Brown would like to play the 49ers and if that happens he wants to be a mentor for the wideout who has gotten a lot of bad press the last few weeks.

“I don't even know even know if we're gonna get the opportunity to bring him here, but if we do, I'm gonna be right there to mentor this guy and be around him,” Rice said. “He's been talking about this forever, ‘I want to run the hill with Jerry Rice. I want to work out with Jerry Rice. I want to pick his brain, and see what made him so successful.' I think he's a great football player, and he'd be a great addition.”

Brown doesn't have a choice of where he goes as the Steelers still have control over him, but the Steelers might be able to get the best return trading him to a team like the 49ers, who he really wants to play for. This is a story that will probably gain more traction after the Super Bowl.
