San Francisco 49ers general manager John Lynch seems to think that star cornerback Richard Sherman still has some quality years ahead of him on the field.

Sherman discussed several things when addressing the media this week, including how many seasons he expects to play and why a potential move to safety could be in the works.

The Super Bowl champion and four-time Pro-Bowler mentioned that he plans to play until 35, but before he calls it quits, he'll likely make the official position move to safety.

As for Lynch, he's of the opinion that Sherman still has a good road ahead of him at his current position.

Here's what the 49ers GM had to say about Sherman's recent comments, courtesy of Eric Branch of the San Francisco Chronicle:

“I like the fact he’s saying he can play until he’s 35 because I’m a huge fan of Richard Sherman and what he brings to our team,” Lynch said. “… I think Sherm was speaking way out there in the future about the safety position. I don’t doubt him on anything. He has the size. He certainly has the football intelligence. I believe he has good years left at corner.”

Sherman has 24 combined tackles this season in 10 games played, and he now has 391 combined tackles for his incredible career. He's still someone that opposing quarterbacks want to avoid, even if it has been a tough season for his current squad.

The 49ers will return to the field on Sunday in hopes of earning their third win of the season when they host the Denver Broncos.
