San Francisco 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan might not the credit he deserves this season due to his team's win-loss record. Entering Sunday, the Niners had as many wins as you and I did in the NFL, and we aren't even a National Football League franchise. After Sunday? The 49ers now have one more win than us.

“I feel good. I feel very good,” Shanahan said. “I didn’t know it’d take this long, but it was special with the guys. I was real happy for them. Those guys have been working so hard and we just keep coming in every Monday so disappointed. By the time I see them every Wednesday, those guys are like the first game of the year. To have them still out there going like that with how many we’ve lost in a row, that’s what gave us a chance to win today and just real happy for them.”

The Niners have been a weird team this season and not only because of random guys playing the quarterback position. Despite not having elite talent all over the field, San Francisco has been wildly competitive this season, even if the team's record doesn't indicate that.

Everyone knew, anyway, that when Kyle Shanahan took the gig that there would need to be a massive rebuild of sorts for the franchise. Without much talent on the roster, it could take a few years before he gets the Niners back to a place of competence.

That being said, he does appear to be a really solid head coach. A reason for optimism in the Bay Area.
