Over a week ago, it seemed like running back Raheem Mostert's time with the San Francisco 49ers was all but over after he requested a trade. Now, it appears like the 49ers organization and their lightning-quick ball carrier might still have a chance at reconciling.

NFL Media's Ian Rapoport reported that Mostert has spoken to a high-ranking member within the franchise's organization. The dialogue was had in order to “clear the air and get on the same page moving forward”, according to Rapoport's sources.

Mostert's agent, Brett Tessler, released a tweet almost two weeks ago stating how negotiations with the 49ers had left him and his client disappointed.

His agent said that the running back had simple demands, merely wanting to be paid as much as the highest compensated backs on the team.

Tevin Coleman, Mostert's co-ball carrier, is set to make $4.5 million this coming 2020 season, and considering the latter's performance last year, most would believe that his requests are more than reasonable.

The undrafted Purdue product bounced around the league for four years before landing in San Francisco in 2016. Since then, he's ground out a spot in Kyle Shanahan's offense and was one quarter away from winning a Super Bowl ring with the 49ers. Mostert set career highs across the board in 2019 and led all running backs in league with an average of 5.6 yards per carry.

Mostert's best moment came in the NFC Championship Game where he led the team to a  victory over the Green Bay Packers. He rushed for 220 yards, a franchise postseason record.
