Earlier on Wednesday, the San Francisco 49ers ruled tight end George Kittle out for their Week 11 matchup with the Arizona Cardinals. Now, they have apparently had a change of heart.

According to Matt Maiocco of NBC Sports Bay Area, the 49ers have retracted their original report of Kittle being officially out.

Of course, it still doesn't look like Kittle will be playing, as a Niners spokesperson said that head coach Kyle Shanahan meant to say he doesn't plan on playing Kittle on Sunday but will not rule him out at this point.

Kittle is nursing a knee injury that kept him out of San Francisco's loss to the Seattle Seahawks this past Monday.

On the season, the third-year star has logged 46 catches for 541 yards and a couple of touchdowns.

Kittle, who played his collegiate football at the University of Iowa, was originally selected by the 49ers in the fifth round (146th pick overall) of the 2017 NFL Draft.

He played in 15 games during his rookie campaign, catching 43 passes for 515 yards and a pair of scores. Then, last year, Kittle broke out, setting the single-season tight end record with 1,377 yards, hauling in 88 receptions while reaching the end zone five times en route to a Pro Bowl appearance.

Oddly enough, the 26-year-old wasn't incredibly productive at Iowa, as he amassed just 48 catches for 737 yards and 10 touchdowns across four collegiate seasons, but he has developed into one of the NFL's best at his respective position.

The 49ers suffered their first loss this past week but still own the best record in the NFC at 8-1.
