The San Francisco 49ers are on a bye in Week 4, but once they get back to practice next week, running back Tevin Coleman could be practicing. 49ers coach Kyle Shanahan said Monday the hope is Coleman can play next Sunday against the Cleveland Browns:

“I think he’s got a good chance to come back next week,” Shanahan said of Coleman, per NBC Sports Bay Area. “He was just jogging and moving pretty well last week, just watching him run on the side. So, he won’t be out there tomorrow, but hopefully we’ll get him practicing here next Monday.”

Coleman had six carries for 23 yards and also caught two passes in Week 1 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers before leaving the game with a sprained ankle.

When Coleman does return, it's going to be a crowded backfield, which is a good problem to have. With Tevin Coleman out, it has been Raheem Mostert and Jeff Wilson Jr. giving strong performances.

Shanahan also said rookie wide receiver Jalen Hurd could return from a stress fracture in his back against the Browns:

“I do expect him back,” Shanahan said. “This will be a big week for him with rehab and stuff while we’re gone. But yeah, I’m hoping he’ll be back next Monday and I’m expecting him to.”

The offense has already been strong for the 49ers, and getting both of these guys back only should make it stronger.
