The NFL regular season is almost here, and it's time for fantasy owners to draft their team. Every season has overvalued fantasy football quarterbacks and overrated fantasy football quarterbacks. We have to look through a specific prism, too, and specifically drill deep for overvalued ADP fantasy football quarterbacks. Lots of players get drafted based on name recognition, and those picks could be the difference in a fantasy owner's season.

Fantasy owners need to learn when to take these quarterbacks, as reaching could result in missing out on other key players. With that said, here are the 5 most overvalued fantasy football quarterbacks based on 2021 ADP.

Overvalued Fantasy Football Quarterbacks:

5. Jalen Hurts

Jalen Hurts is expected to have a breakout year, his average ADP is 77.7  in Yahoo leagues. While Hurts should have a good season, he is ranked above Ryan Tannehill and Matthew Stafford. Tannehill and Stafford have better floors and experience.

It is still a possibility for Hurts to struggle, as he is an unproven player. In 4 games last season, Hurts threw for 1,061 yards along with 6 touchdowns and 4 interceptions. Hurts was an inefficient passer as he only completed 52 percent of his passes. The hyper around Hurts comes from his dual-threat ability. He had 63 rush attempts last season for 354 and 3 touchdowns.

Hurts will still be a quality fantasy quarterback this season, but he is one of the overvalued fantasy football quarterbacks in the NFL.

4. Tua Tagovailoa

Tua Tagovailoa is still an unproven young player and is being drafted somewhat early. He rates as part of the group of overvalued fantasy football quarterbacks.

Tagovailoa isn't drafted in every draft, but he has an ADP of 125.5 when drafted. Fantasy owners are selecting Tagovailoa as a backup quarterback, but he is being taken above other quarterbacks that should be taken before him. Justin Fields, Trey Lance, Jameis Winston, and Ryan Fitzpatrick all have ADPs above Tagovailoa, which is questionable.

In his rookie campaign, Tagovailoa threw for 1,814 yards along with 11 touchdowns and 5 interceptions. He started in 9 games last season and had a record 0f 6-3 in those games. Tagovailoa put up decent numbers, but he should not be drafted as early as he is.

He is a player to take in the last round, or pickup through the waiver wire if he proves his worth. This is an overvalued ADP fantasy football profile.

3. Jared Goff

Another player who is being taken early in Yahoo leagues is Jared Goff. He is also not taken in every draft, but when taken his ADP is 121.7. Goff is being taken above the players aforementioned about Tagavailoa, as well as Trevor Lawrence, Baker Mayfield, and Ben Roethlisberger. He will be on a new team this season as he was traded to the Detroit Lions in the offseason. He might not seem to be an overrated fantasy football quarterbacks club member, given the criticism he faces, but it's true if you're thinking of overvalued ADP fantasy football players.

Last season, Goff threw for 3,952 yards along with 20 touchdowns and 13 interceptions. He also had a 67% completion percentage, which is solid. However, that number may go down as he will be in a new offensive system with the Lions. All of his numbers are bound to go down as he had better surrounding talent with the Los Angeles Rams.

While Goff was decent in fantasy last season, he is not worth a pick this year. Fantasy owners need to stay clear of Goff and go with a different option. Overvalued fantasy football quarterbacks and

2. Cam Newton

Cam Newton is another guy that is not being drafted in every Yahoo league. However, his ADP is 121.9 when drafted. This places him right below Goff, which is not a good spot for him. The New England Patriots drafted quarterback Mac Jones in the first round, who could replace Newton during the season. It appears Newton will start week 1, but he is not the player he used to be.

Last season, Newton threw for 2,657 yards along with 8 touchdowns and 10 interceptions. He was solid on the ground this season as he rushed for 592 yards and 12 touchdowns.

It is not worth selecting Newton as a backup quarterback this fantasy season as he may not have his starting job for long. Overvalued ADP fantasy football profiles include Cam.

1. Lamar Jackson

You may be thinking, why is Lamar Jackson on this list? He indeed is one of the best fantasy quarterbacks, but his ADP is above some better fantasy quarterbacks. Ravens fans don't want to hear it, but Lamar is at the top of the list among overrated fantasy football quarterbacks.

The overvalued ADP fantasy football description applies to Lamar. It's unavoidable. Jackson's ADP is 41.5 on Yahoo, placing him above Kyler Murray, Dak Prescott, Aaron Rodgers, and Russell Wilson. Jackson had a disappointing 2020 fantasy campaign, while Murray had a breakout season.

Last season, Jackson had 2,757 yards along with 26 touchdowns and 9 interceptions. Jackson also rushed for 1,005 yards and 7 touchdowns. He still had a solid fantasy campaign, but it was not the projected numbers he had. Jackson could have a bounce-back fantasy campaign, but he shouldn't be selected so high.

With the fantasy season almost upon us, it's time for owners to draft and formulate their teams. If you haven't drafted yet, make sure to not take these overvalued fantasy football quarterbacks early; their ADP is deceiving.
