In the first couple of months of the offseason, former Pro Bowl running back Adrian Peterson has been one of the most notable names still available on the open market. He is one of the most established players still yet to sign or receive any significant interest from a team in the league.

Despite that, Peterson has continued to show that he is in great physical condition posting videos of him going through rigorous workouts to prove that he still has plenty left in the tank to play at a high level.

Peterson still clearly has a desire to keep his career going into his 12th season in the league to play a significant role with a franchise next season. In fact, he has told Tom Pelissero of The NFL Network that he his right knee is completely fine from the torn meniscus that he suffered in his right knee back in 2016 and the neck injury that shortened back half of his 2017 campaign.

At that same notion, he also stated that he was open to a return to the New Orleans Saints given that they will be without Pro Bowl running back Mark Ingram for the first four games of the 2018 season due to a suspension for violating the performance-enhancing drugs policy. New Orleans is reportedly not interested in getting another running back, but if so Peterson is more than willing to go down that route again with the team.

Peterson is coming off a topsy-turvy 2017 campaign that began with the Saints after he inked a tw0-year, $7 million deal where he played a secondary role in the running game before being dealt mid-season to the Arizona Cardinals. In six games with Arizona, he notched 448 rushing yards on 129 carries with a pair of touchdowns. Peterson started off strong with two performances with at least 130 yards in his first three games. However, his play declined over the next three games failing to break 30 rushing yards twice over that span.

It is quite clear that Peterson has a strong desire to keep his career going, but it may not be in his hands at this point in time as he might have to wait until training camp is underway where teams will have a better idea of where they are in terms of the roster. Until then, he looks to be physically ready to be an impact player for his next stop.
