Only four minutes into their game against the Phoenix Suns on Tuesday night, Portland Trail Blazers forward Al-Farouq Aminu suffered a calf strain and was forced to head to the locker room. He did not return to the game.

With the Blazers scheduled on a back-to-back set, it makes the 26-year-old Wake Forest product highly unlikely to play against the L.A. Clippers on Wednesday.

Aminu talked about his injury after the game and discussed how he plans to go about it, per Mike Richman of The Oregonian.

“I don't know how long-term things feel. I've never really been injured like that. Hopefully, in the morning it feels like a miracle and I can jump. Just going to take everything day by day.”

Calf strains are often tricky and usually just needs to be rested in order to make a full recovery. The Trail Blazers are expected to take a cautious approach on Aminu's injury as they need him to be healthy as the season progresses. The team knows he is a vital piece to their success especially because they are looking to make a deeper playoff run this campaign.

The 6-foot-9 forward is averaging 6.4 points, 6.6 rebounds and 1.6 assists so far in eight games. Should he miss some time, Noah Vonleh is expected to take over his spot and will see an uptick in his minutes.
