Earlier this offseason, it was widely reported that the Detroit Pistons were dangling former All-Star center Andre Drummond in trade talks.

It was something that Drummond recently told Vince Ellis of the Detroit Free Press as a difficult experience for himself and his family to go through.

“I never had to deal with that before,” Drummond said via conference call to promote his appearance – along with other NBA stars – in South Africa this week.

“It was tough for my family and me to hear those rumors, but guys making that much money, not having the year they’re supposed to have, obviously that’s what’s going to happen. I’ve accepted that.”

Andre Drummond likely had much belief that he is in the team's long-term plans given that he's entering the second year of his lucrative contract extension worth $127.1 million over five years. However, the Pistons' regression this past season after making the playoffs the year before has put the franchise in much influx.

The 23-year-old had been prominently mentioned in trade chatter prior to the draft in late June. There have also been reports that Detroit had considered putting starting point guard Reggie Jackson on the trade block.

It has created the sense that a major roster shakeup could happen at any point if the Pistons don't show any progress this upcoming season.
