The Atlanta Falcons have been one of the league's biggest disappointments over the last two seasons. In 2018, they finished 7-9 and did not make the playoffs. This season, they are on the same pace.

After a 53-32 loss to the Houston Texans, the Falcons sit at 1-4 and in last place in the NFC South. It is a mystery why Falcons have not succeeded, especially when looking at their skill position players. It is getting late early in Atlanta. These are three foxes that must be made if the Falcons want to make something of 2019.

3. Play Defense

Seems vague right? Well it is because there is no specific aspect to key in on. The Falcons are allowing 30.4 points per game which is second worst in the league. Opponents are gaining 378.2 yards per game as well. Their secondary has been poor so far.

Up front, the Falcons have been even worse. They are allowing 120.8 rushing yards per game. Atlanta is tied for last in the league picking up only five sacks through five games. There is no way to turn a season around with these defensive numbers. They need to improve immediately.

2. Throw the Ball to Julio Jones

Julio Jones is one of the best receivers in the league. He has proven it year in and year out. So far in 2019, he has just 26 catches and three games of five catches or less. Over the last two games, Jones has seven catches for 94 yards. He has not scored a touchdown since Week 3 after scoring four in the first three games.

It is obvious that Jones is the focal point of the Falcons' offense. Opposing defenses know that they must stop No. 11 if they want to beat the Falcons. There is no reason why he should be targeted less than eight times per game, and that might even be low. The offense has to run through Jones, especially in the red zone.

1. Fire Dan Quinn

It is a miracle that this has not happened already. The Dan Quinn era needs to come to an end in Atlanta. Yes, he led them to the Super Bowl with the help of his MVP quarterback but let's not forget how bad coaching blew a 28-3 lead.

Falcons' owner Arthur Blank gave Quinn a vote of confidence following the loss to the Texans. He said he will not be making a chance but it has to come soon. If the Falcons are serious about winning a Super Bowl, they must bring in a coach who can do it. If Atlanta finished 7-9 once again or worse, Blank will have no choice but to let Quinn go.
