The Atlanta Falcons' Week 18 matchup against the New Orleans Saints should be a fun contest. The Saints are fighting for their playoff lives, while the Falcons have a chance to spoil it for them. We take a look at this Saints-Falcons game with some of our Falcons Week 18 predictions in mind.

Defensively, Atlanta has struggled for most of the season. Although, AJ Terrell finally had an opportunity in Week 17 and did well against Stefon Diggs. It could open up more opportunities for the Falcons to improve on defense, which they'll need against the Saints. Look for this team to focus on slowing down Alvin Kamara, as he's the driving force of the New Orleans offense.

Even though they're eliminated from the postseason, the Falcons will be aiming to win this game. To do that, Cordarrelle Patterson needs to finish the season with a strong performance. Additionally, with Kyle Pitts back in the lineup, Atlanta has a chance to exploit the Saints' pass coverage. If everything comes together, we could see this team pull off the upset on Sunday.

With that said, here are four bold Falcons Week 18 predictions for their divisional matchup against the Saints.

Atlanta Falcons Week 18 Predictions

4. Falcons' defense shuts down Alvin Kamara

This will be tough to do considering the Falcons haven't done a great job stopping the run this season Alvin Kamara is a premier athlete who has led the Saints to a potential playoff spot. However, the Falcons are in a position to spoil New Orleans' postseason hopes. Look for this defense to rise to the occasion as they have a chance to stun a division rival.

3. Cordarrelle Patterson bounces back with 2 touchdowns

Cordarrelle Patterson has been a phenomenal asset for the Falcons this season. He has a chance to end his campaign on a high note against the Saints. It's a tough task as they're one of the best run-stopping defenses in the league. Luckily for Atlanta, Patterson is a hybrid-type player who helps in the passing game as well.

That's likely how Patterson takes over this game on Sunday. The Saints haven't done great defending the pass, which bodes well for the Falcons in general. This is an interesting matchup, but we should expect to see Cordarrelle Patterson put on one more solid performance before the season ends.

2. Kyle Pitts goes off for 100+ yards and 1 touchdown

Kyle Pitts has been one of the best rookies in the 2021 season. The future of this franchise is bright, as Pitts' potential is through the roof. He has a chance to help the Falcons upset the Saints and could be in for a big game. Look for the star rookie to possibly have the best game of his career so far.

1. Falcons upset the Saints and spoil their playoff hopes

This is a tough task, but it's not impossible. The Saints don't have an elite roster and could find themselves in trouble if they can't get Kamara going. To win this game, the Falcons' defense must step up, while the offense torches New Orleans through the air. Patterson and Pitts need to be heavily involved in the game plan for Atlanta to pull off this win. If that happens, the Saints' playoff hopes would crumble.
