Auburn had one of the most talented defensive lines in college football this season. The Tigers have multiple defensive players who are expected to be picked in the 2020 NFL Draft, one being Nick Coe.

Nick Coe does not have numbers that will jump off the page. In nine games this season, he was credited with just 15 tackles and no sacks. In three seasons as an Auburn Tiger, Coe logged 67 tackles, nine sacks, and two forced fumbles. He declared for the draft early and did not play in Auburn's bowl game against Minnesota.

Nick Coe is a versatile player. He is listed as a defensive end but has no trouble moving inside and playing tackle. Team sources say that he looks more natural playing inside because of his size and ability to rush the passer from the defensive tackle spot. Nick Coe is not a finished product. He must improve his hands and get more moves to gain an edge over NFL offensive lineman.

This is a player that can fit in a 3-4 or 4-3 defense because of his versatility. A team that could use a player on the defensive line is the Green Bay Packers.

Coe Could be Day Two Option

The Packers added two linebackers in Preston Smith and Za'Darius Smith prior to the 2019 season. The Smiths combined for 25.5 sacks in their first season in Green Bay. Despite their production, the Packers' defense still struggled. They could use some help on the defensive line.

Green bay ranked 20th in the league allowing 120.1 yards per game on the ground. They need a big body in the middle to stuff the run. At 6'5 and 291 pounds, Nick Coe has the size to be a run stuffer up the middle. His ability to play inside or out should attract Coe to many teams but especially the Packers.

Coe is an early round pick in the upcoming draft. He did not have a strong junior season after a really good sophomore campaign where he finished with 13 tackles for loss.

Nick Coe has a lot of work to do if he wants to be a true force on an NFL defense. This will keep him out of the first round but that does not mean that he is not valuable. The Packers hold a late first round pick where they should opt to take a wide receiver in this very deep class.

On day two, Nick Coe will be available and he could fall right into the lap of Green Bay.
