The Colorado Avalanche have defeated the Tampa Bay Lightning in Game 4 of the 2022 Stanley Cup Final. And it's all thanks to returning star Nazem Kadri.

With around 8:04 left in the overtime period, the former Toronto Maple Leafs forward threw a shot at Lightning goaltender Andrei Vasilevskiy. Originally, no one reacted, but soon the Avalanche began celebrating. Video replay showed the puck finding its way into the top shelf netting.

The goal caused many reactions on social media, including those not associated with the sport. Sports Illustrated NFL reporter Albert Breer chimed in with his take on it all.

Denver Broncos kicker Brandon McManus showed love to a fellow superstar Denver athlete:

Those within the hockey world also took to social media to show their reactions:

Former Toronto Maple Leafs defenseman Carlo Colaiacovo pondered what this version of Kadri would look like on his old team:

And, of course, fans got their reactions and takes in as the game ended:

Kadri has had a history of suspensions in the NHL, having dealt with the Department of Player Safety a few times. The 31-year-old played in his first game back since sustaining an injury in Game 3 of the Western Conference Final.

This season, the veteran has put it all together. He scored 28 goals and 87 points in 71 games for the Avalanche. In the playoffs, he's added six goals and 14 points to help lead the attack.

After running into St. Louis Blues goalie Jordan Binnington in the Western Conference Semi-Finals, Kadri had a water bottle thrown at him by the Blues shot-stopper.
