Barcelona manager Xavi Hernandez has been impressed with how his players have committed themselves to the club.

After eight matches as Barcelona coach, Xavi Hernandez was able to see what type of players he has in his squad.

Talent-wise, the current Barca squad doesn't have the magnificence of Lionel Messi or the nose for goals of Luis Suarez. However, Xavi appreciates the “effort” and the “commitment” his players have displayed this past month.

“As a coach, I’m really happy with the effort and the commitment that these players are putting in. [Gerard] Pique, [Sergio] Busquets, [Jordi] Alba, Frenkie [De Jong], [Marc-Andre] Ter Stegen. It’s not just a matter of commitment, it’s understanding the way we want to play. The players who are injured, want to play. We have to try and slow them down. We won’t let them. In that respect I’m very happy with the team and the commitment of everyone,” Xavi said via Barca Blaugranes.

Xavi went on to put emphasize how thrilled he is to see Barcelona youngsters stepping as well, especially Ferran Jutgla, the new first-team striker who has been bagging goals for the Catalans in recent games.

“The youngsters, Ferran [Jutgla] who’s never played in the first team, are making a difference and this is surprising me a lot,” he continued. “What’s surprising is that we are not talking about the commitment of the captains and the older players who are there with us. I have no complaints about them.”

Barcelona will be looking to secure back-to-back wins when they face Sevilla on Tuesday.
