La Liga club Barcelona have long been linked with Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski, and if recent reports prove to be true, the move might just be a done deal.

According to Polish reporter Sebastian Staszewski (via SB Nation), Lewandowski has reached an agreement on a “multimillion three-year contract” to join the Catalan giants in Camp Nou. Apparently, Barça beat the likes of Paris Saint-Germain, Manchester City and Liverpool for the services of the prolific scorer.

While there is already a deal between Lewy and Barcelona, the task is far from over for the Spanish club. Since the Polish striker still has one year left on his contract with Bayern Munich, they now have to reach an agreement with the Bundesliga champions to get him for an agreed upon transfer fee.

Football journalist Gerard Romero corroborated the report as well, adding Barcelona's reason for the move. Interestingly, team manager Xavi is said to be behind the decision, as he wants Lewandowski to be part of his squad.

Robert Lewandowski's arrival is certainly a massive boost to a Barcelona team looking to get back to relevance in the post-Lionel Messi era. They already have Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, and Lewy's addition makes them an even more lethal offensive squad. So far in the 2021-22 German top-flight season, Lewandowski has already recorded 32 goals to lead the league.

It remains to be seen when the deal will be finalized (if it is true), but there is no doubt Barça fans will be hyped to see one of the best scorers in the world wearing red, blue and maroon.
