Chicago Bears safety Eddie Jackson has performed at an elite level, just like the rest of the Bears' defensive players. However, Jackson has been standing out for another reason as well. The Bears safety has scored three touchdowns this season, which is as much as another former Alabama standout in Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Julio Jones.

It's surprising that a top-three wide receiver has as many touchdowns as a safety, but kudos to Jackson for helping the Bears' defense get to the next level this season.

The Bears have six defensive touchdowns, 34 sacks, 20 interceptions, and nine fumble recoveries this season. Only the Saints have a statistically better run defense in the league right now. Where the Bears may be vulnerable is their pass defense, however, they clearly make up for it with takeaways and constant pressure up front.

Jackson drives a young Bears defense to success on a weekly basis, and they have now won five straight games after suffering a loss to the New England Patriots back in Week 7. The loss in Week 6 against the Miami Dolphins was also a bit of a shock considering how much better the Bears have been since and how much the Dolphins have struggled.

It could be a nice little competition for the remainder of the season for Jackson to try to keep up with Jones' touchdown total. The 25-year-old former fourth-round pick has proven to be an incredible ballhawk and holds the Bears' secondary to a high standard.

Eddie Jackson could find himself in the end zone more this season if he continues his strong play.
