Mitchell Trubisky is apprently getting the Tim Tebow treatment in Chicago. That's according to Bears coach John Fox, who was quoted by Michael David Smith of Pro Football Talk, comparing the burgeoning excitement the Windy City has for this year's second-overall draft pick to that of Tebow's first season with the Denver Broncos in 2011.

“The first time we threw Tim Tebow out there in Denver it was pretty similar,” Fox said. “That brought quite a bit of attention.”

Fox was the coach of that particular Denver team, so this comes across as an interesting take from someone who's seen first hand the type of hype surrounding both players during their respective rookie years in the NFL. Trubisky wasn't able to reach the success Tebow had in college; the North Carolina Tar Heels did not win a single bowl game in any of the three seasons Trubisky spent in Chapel Hill, while Tebow was part of a Florida Gators team that won a pair of national titles.

Perhaps this Chicago frenzy for Trubisky is just a sign of the Bears' faithful finally seeing a glimpse of the light at the end of a long tunnel that was the Jay Cutler era.
