There may still be plenty of football left to play in the 2018 NFL season. However, defensive end Khalil Mack feels this week's matchup versus the Minnesota Vikings could decide the NFC North. The Chicago Bears currently sits atop the division ahead of the Vikings. According to Patrick Finley of the Chicago Sun-Times, Mack thinks this game will have serious implications on the playoff picture.

“You want to be in a spot where you can kind of clinch this thing down the line,” Mack said. “So this is going to be a game that can very well tell the story toward the end of the season.”

There is indeed plenty of truth to Mack's comments. Both teams got a nice boost from the Green Bay Packers' loss on Thursday. Chicago is now a game and a half ahead of Minnesota in the division. A win now would not only help build their lead, but it would also give them the advantage of having a win going into their season finale with the Vikings.

Unfortunately, this is easier said than done. The Vikings have won four out of their last five games. The return of running back Dalvin Cook indicates that they could be using a more balanced approach on offense moving forward. However, the Bears have also been able to work Mack back in after missing a few games with an ankle injury. Chicago will undoubtedly need to find a way to contain this high-powered Minnesota offense if they want to maintain a comfortable lead atop the division.
