There were questions about whether or not Chicago Bears quarterback Mitchell Trubisky was benched late during their loss to the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday Night Football.

The source of the speculation beyond the Trubisky taking the sidelines was the long talk that Nagy had with them prior to him being removed from the lineup. Many were confused regarding why such a long discussion would need to take place between Nagy and Trubisky if an injury were the reason.

It turns out that Nagy was asking Trubisky about the extent of his hip injury and pleaded for honesty about how he was feeling. Given how professional athletes are often such fierce competitors, it's understandable that Trubisky would need to be talked out of taking the field.

The expectation is that Trubisky will remain the Bears' starting quarterback given how he wasn't pulled for his performance. By the end of the night, he had totaled only 190 passing yards, one touchdown, and an interception after completing just 24 of his 43 pass attempts. To put it into perspective, he had a quarterback rating of just 38.0.

It has been a rough 2019 campaign for Trubisky. There were some experts that picked him to be the MVP of the league before the season began. That projection has been so off-target that a casino actually issued refunds for those that placed that particular bet.
