Mitchell Trubisky will likely be on a new team next season after the Chicago Bears declined his 2021 option. The injured quarterback will become a free agent after the 2020 season ends.

One NFL exec who spoke to Adam Jahns of The Athletic believes Trubisky will get another shot in the league.

However, the front office guy didn't hold back in his assessment of the Bears signal-caller.

“He’ll get another shot because he was a first-round pick,” the executive said. “I don’t think he’s a very good quarterback. I think he’s ideal in a backup role. So if I was his agent, I’d look for a team with a history of helping quarterbacks. Nagy should have been that because he was with Andy Reid.”

Mitchell Trubisky got benched for Nick Foles during the Bears' Week 3 win over the Atlanta Falcons. He was the No. 2 overall pick in the 2017 draft and hasn't lived up to the hype at all.

In 45 games with the Bears, Trubisky has thrown 54 touchdowns and 32 interceptions. He has racked up 9,114 yards through the air while completing 63.1 percent of his passes.

In 2018, Trubisky made the Pro Bowl and led the Bears to the playoffs, where Chicago lost to Foles and the Philadelphia Eagles in the Wild Card game at Soldier Field. The 26-year-old then regressed in 2019 and eventually lost his job to Foles this season.

It's going to be interesting to see where Trubisky lands next season. He will likely be a backup quarterback, as his days of starting in the NFL could be over.
