Chicago Bears quarterback Mitchell Trubisky has had a rough go of it in 2020.

Trubisky entered the season as the starter under center after winning the quarterback competition against Nick Foles. But uninspiring performances eventually led to Foles taking over as the Bears' full-time starter by Week 4.

Things have only gotten worse for the former No. 2 overall pick. Trubisky entered Sunday's game against the New Orleans Saints for a single play, and he apparently suffered a shoulder injury on said play. The injury could be structural:

As unfortunate as Trubisky's injury is, it essentially epitomizes Chicago's offensive struggles this season.

The Bears felt Foles was the man for the job going forward after he led a sensational comeback against the Atlanta Falcons in Week 3. But Foles has struggled in his five starts, for a number of reasons.

Foles has certainly made a number of ill-advised throws, leading to six interceptions in his last five games. He also spoke about an apparent disconnect with head coach Matt Nagy with respect to offensive play-calling.

Then there is the massive swarm of injuries on the offensive line that have made Foles much more susceptible to pressure. The former Super Bowl MVP has been sacked nine times in the last two games, including five times against the Saints this past weekend.

This is all to say Chicago's problems on the offensive side of the ball always seemed to extend beyond Trubisky, as has become evident in recent weeks.

Yet, it seems Trubisky is still bearing some of the struggle after sustaining an injury in his lone play last Sunday.
