Even though Cody Parkey cost the Chicago Bears a chance to continue in the NFL playoffs, quarterback Mitchell Trubisky still has his back. After Parkey missed the kick he went on the Today show which drew a lot of criticism from fans and even coaches Matt Nagy, but Trubisky still supports him, saying it's a personal decision to go on the show.

“It is what it is,” Trubisky said Wednesday at the Pro Bowl via ESPN. “He made a personal decision, and us being teammates and a family, we’ve just got to support our guys no matter what they do. So whether we agree with it or not it really doesn’t matter. We’re going to support our guys and support our family and when we get back to Chicago we’re going to get back to work and it’s going to be like nothing ever happened.”

Trubisky points out that Parkey is getting a lot of heat for the missed kick, even though it was blocked and if going on the Today show is what Parkey felt like he needed to do, he will have his back on the issue.

“He just made a personal decision. … He’s been going through a lot, taking all the heat from the kick even though it did get tipped — and making that decision to go on ‘The Today Show,' if that’s something that he felt like he had to do, we’ve got to support him as teammates and brothers and we will.”

Even though Trubisky says that his teammates have Parkey's back the question is will the front office. According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, the Bears are holding tryouts for a different kicker and the first guy they are bringing in is Nick Folk.

Parkey struggled all season, not just in the playoffs, so it's not much of a surprise the Bears are thinking about making a change.
