The Chicago Bears have quite the quarterback dilemma on their hands at the moment.

They signed Andy Dalton in the offseason with the assumption that he would be their starter this season. Then, the Bears traded up in the first round of the NFL Draft and selected Justin Fields of Ohio State.

On Wednesday, Dalton reiterated that this is his time to be the starting quarterback for the Bears.

Dalton was complimentary of Fields and there haven't been any issues between the two. The issue is who the Bears should start Week 1 against the Los Angeles Rams.

Fields was impressive in his preseason debut and Bears fans are clamoring for him to be the starter. Bears head coach Matt Nagy spoke on the situation following preseason game number one. Via the Chicago Sun Times, Nagy answered “Yes,” when asked if Dalton would still be the Week 1 starter.

“Yes, it is the case. Andy had six plays [against the Dolphins on Saturday]. It’s hard to say much good or bad about that with six plays, so we’re going to get him some more snaps this coming preseason game.”

‘‘With Justin, we want to be able to see live plays, live situations. He got that [against the Dolphins], and he did a great job. So the only thing he can do is continue doing that, and then we’ve got to make sure that the plan allows us to evaluate how well he does, knowing the circumstances.’’

The pressure is on for the Bears and Dalton has clearly stated his case despite most Chicago fans wanting to see Fields right away.
