Chicago Bears running back Tarik Cohen recently signed a new extension with the team, but he is still lobbying hard for wide receiver Allen Robinson to get a contract of his own.

Coehn, who agreed to terms on a three-year extension worth up to over $18 million, said he “left some money on the plate” so the team could also extend Robinson.

It comes as no surprise Cohen brought up Robinson's contract situation.

The Bears' diminutive, do-it-all back has taken to Twitter on numerous occasions to support his teammate.

Robinson's future in Chicago continues to be a major talking point for the Bears.

The 27-year-old is in the final season of a three-year, $42 million contract he signed with the Bears ahead of the 2018 campaign. Robinson is also coming off a season in which he had a career-high 98 receptions for 1,147 yards and seven touchdowns. He has established himself as Mitchell Trubisky's favorite target, and the Bears would seemingly hope to preserve depth at the position.

However, extension talks appear to be somewhat stagnant. Bears general manager Ryan Pace has suggested the team wants Robinson in Chicago for the long haul:

“We know he wants to be here. We want him here,” Pace said, via JJ Stankevitz of NBC Sports Chicago. “When you look, we have a proven track record of taking care of our guys with extensions. There have been a lot of them throughout the years at different positions and I'm confident in the process.”

But the two sides have yet to reach an accord, and Robinson is hoping for big money after recent extensions handed to star wide receivers like DeAndre Hopkins, Cooper Kupp and Robert Woods.

In any case, Robinson's teammates understand his value to the franchise. This is especially true of Cohen, who is hoping his own financial sacrifice leads to more money for A-Rob at some point this year.
