A.J. Green is just 30 years of age and presumably still has a few more years left in his impressive career. But as far as the Cincinnati Bengals star is concerned, he is basically “guaranteed” to be enshrined in the Hall of Fame.

Although, Green doesn’t want to just be considered among the best; he wants to be the best.

“That’s what motivates me,” Green said per Tyler Dunne of Bleacher Report. A lot of people don’t put me as the best—top five or whatever. I’m striving to be the best ever. If I play the years I want to play, and I keep the streak I’m on now, there’s no doubt that I’ll be one of the best.”

Green’s resume certainly speaks for itself. Although he’s yet to make a First-Team All-Pro, he’s been a Pro Bowler in all seven years he’s been in the NFL and has racked up an impressive eight touchdowns per season. He’s also topped 1,000 yards in six of those seasons, with the lone exception — he had 964 yards in 2016 — coming in an injury-shortened 10-game season.

Of course, some critics will counter that Green’s peak wasn’t quite high enough to be considered anywhere close to the best ever. But Green’s incredible consistency has at the very least put him in the discussion. And if he continues to produce at such an impressive rate for a few more years, he might just end up backing up all of his big talk when it's all said and done.
