A.J. Green hasn't looked like his normal self with the Cincinnati Bengals so far this season and he may be hampered by yet another injury. In the second half of Sunday's game versus the Baltimore Ravens, Green is doubtful to return due to a hamstring injury, per the team's official Twitter account.

Seeing that the Bengals aren't in a great position to win games, it would be a surprise to see Green back on the field on Sunday. Also, for wide receivers, hamstring injuries can be tricky to deal with as pass-catchers cut in and out of routes.

Green has gotten off to a slow start in his 10th season with the Bengals as he has a new quarterback in Joe Burrow. Despite seeing 34 targets (including Sunday's game) from Burrow, Green has recorded just 14 receptions for 119 yards and zero touchdowns.

Sadly, in recent seasons, injuries have been a common theme for the seven-time Pro Bowler. Altogether, Green has missed a total of 29 games due to injury since the 2016 season, including missing the entire 2019 season with an ankle ailment.

Of course, this past offseason, the Bengals placed their franchise tag on Green in hopes he could prove he's still a big-play threat at 32 years old. However, if the beginning of the season is a sign of what is to come, then Green may be nearing the end of his career.

It goes without saying that we hope the veteran receiver's injury isn't something that is going to keep him out for an extended period of time. Upon Green's exit from Sunday's contest, Tee Higgins and Tyler Boyd will see expanded roles in the offense.
