LSU quarterback Joe Burrow has already been pegged as the future No. 1 overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft by the Cincinnati Bengals. It appears there are many that expect him to make quite the splash as a rookie.

Burrow is already garnering bets to become the 2020 NFL MVP in the Westgate Las Vegas SuperBook, via ESPN's Ben Fawkes:

Joe Burrow, the presumptive No. 1 pick in the 2020 NFL draft is another QB with 100-1 odds, the same number as Justin Herbert. Tua Tagovailoa opened with 80-1 odds.

Are bettors really going to bet on a QB that has never played an NFL game?

“We've already written two tickets on Burrow at 100-1,” laughed Salmons.

The last two to receive the award were players that were in their first full season as a starter. Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes sat out nearly his entire rookie year before taking the reins of the high-powered Chiefs offense and emerging as the MVP.

Meanwhile, Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson became a starter midway through his rookie year and even led his team to the playoffs. He followed it up with a historic 2019 campaign en route to becoming a unanimous selection for MVP.

Unlike Mahomes and Jackson, Burrow will likely be tasked with becoming an immediate starter for this rebuilding Bengals franchise. Unfortunately, this also means he will not have the benefit of learning the ropes from an established veteran before making his debut.

The prospect of Burrow becoming an MVP as a rookie is certainly far-fetched. Regardless, it seems this has not deterred bettors from potentially cashing in.
