If there is one aspect of Joe Burrow’s play as a quarterback that has been lauded by all of his Cincinnati Bengals teammates on offense, it sure has been his keen production in clutch situations.

Bengals wideout Ja’Marr Chase has had a front-row seat to watch Burrow’s standout play in crucial moments of games for years now, whether at LSU or now in Cincinnati. For one, he observed as Burrow guided the offense to the late, game-winning drive against the Tennessee Titans in the AFC divisional round, which was culminated by a 52-yard field goal from kicker Evan McPherson.

In the big picture, Chase sees that Burrow simply embraces playing in clutch situations of games.

“I feel like Joe's always had that chip on his shoulder,” Chase said during a press conference ahead of the 2022 AFC Championship Game. “Growing up his whole life, even through the transfer portal, he's always had that chip on his shoulder.

“He wants to be in those situations. He embraces them. He's ready for them, that's why he works so hard off the field. He prepares for those situations.”

From the three game-winning drives in the regular season to his 101.4 passer rating in the playoffs, Burrow sure has elevated his play when it has mattered the most in his sophomore campaign with the Bengals.

Overall, Burrow holds a 6-0 record in postseason games in his football career, which includes the pair of College Football Playoff wins over Oklahoma and Clemson in LSU’s national championship-winning season in 2019.

Another major test now awaits Burrow, as he will lead the Bengals in the upcoming AFC title game clash with the Kansas City Chiefs.
