Ever since its inception in 2017, the BIG3 basketball league has been a slam-dunk. Not only is it a way for ex-pro players to showcase their skills and prove to people that they still have it, like former San Antonio Spurs and Golden State Warriors forward Stephen Jackson, but it also allows them to re-live their glory years.

As of this day, several notable names like Allen Iverson, Baron Davis, and Al Harrington, just to name a few, have competed in this tournament. Still, despite the abundant star power, people are still looking for the next big thing; and who better former athlete to recruit than Los Angeles Lakers all-time great Kobe Bryant?

Jackson, the current Killer 3s player, is at least doing his part in making this a reality.

During a post-game interview, a reporter from Lets Get It Sports foolishly asks him whether he thinks the man we know as The Mamba can handle the physicality in the BIG3. This was his (very adamant) response.

As you may have seen in the video, Jackson seems pretty sure that Bryant can handle the competition. He even took the opportunity to beg the former NBA champion to lace up his shoes and play, saying “We need you, we need you.”

Ice Cube, the league’s co-founder, who tried wooing Bryant to sign up, would be very, very proud.

While it’s, as Jackson put it, a rhetoric question to ever ask if Bryant has the skill to compete at this level, him actually playing may be a long-shot considering the number of things he has going on outside of the hardwood.

Still, we can all agree with Jackson that if ever No. 24 chooses to play again, it would make for some must-see TV.
